THEODORE FISCHER

Theodore Carl (Ted) Fischer, 78, 915 Second Ave. S.E., Le Mars, died Sunday (Dec. 10, 1972) at Brentwood Good Samaritan home in Le Mars after a nine months illness. He had lived at Brentwood for 41 days.

He was born Feb. 6, 1894 at Merrill, son of the late Carl and Louisa (Held) Fischer. His marriage to Rose Seiler took place Feb. 25, 1920 at Marshall, Minn. He farmed in Stanton township until retiring to Le Mars in 1944. After retiring he was custodian at Westmar college and later at Le Mars community schools.

Mr. Fischer was a member of Calvary United Methodist church and Wasmer post American Legion.
He was an over-seas veteran of World War I.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Calvary United Methodist church with Rev. Tom Balm officiating. Burial will be in Stanton township cemetery rural Merrill, under the direction of the Mauer funeral home in Le Mars.

Survivors are his son, Donald of Le Mars; three daughters, Mrs. Wilfred (Gladys) Bowers of Manchester; Mrs. Arnold (Marion) Gaumnitz, Vinton and Mrs. John (Arlene) Baker of Bakersfield, Calif.; 18 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; also a sister, Mrs. Agnes Seiler, Marshall, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife in 1967 and by a sister.
