John S. Ogilvie
John Stewart Ogilvie of 208 1st avenue southeast of Le Mars passed away November 26, 1961 at Sacred Heart hospital, Le Mars. He had been a patient at the hospital for 13 months and had
been sick for several years.Mr. Ogilvie was born January 5, 1877 at Kurrieruis, Scotland. He came to the United States in 1912 to Minnesota and lived there one year before coming to Le Mars where he has since made his home. He was a retired bakery operator and operated the Vienna Bakery in Le Mars.
His marriage to Bessie J. Young on March 5, 1913 in Le Mars.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday November 29 at 2 p.m. at the Mauer Funeral home. Rev. James Ransom will officiate at last rites and burial will be in Le Mars city cemetery under direction of the Mauer funeral home.
Survivors include his widow Bessie J. Ogilvie, Le Mars; two children, Donald Ogilvie, San Pueblo, California; Annia, Mrs. Harold I. Stark. Iowa City; 4 grandchildren and two brothers and a sister living in Scotland.
Mr. Ogilvie was a twin in a family of 12 children. He was a member of the Masonic lodge and was formerly active in many organizations.
