Mrs. Anna Groth, 89, Dies at Remsen Home; Funeral Wednesday.
Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Groth, 89, of Remsen will be held at the Fisch funeral home at 1:30 p.m. and later at the Christ Lutheran church Wednesday, Feb. 21. Burial will be in the Remsen cemetery with the Rev. A. Noack reading the services.
Mrs. Groth died at her home in Remsen Saturday, Feb. 17, after ailing the past eight weeks. She had been an active member for a number of years in the Christ Lutheran Ladies aid.
Her birth place was Rensberg, Germany, on Oc.t 10, 1861. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John T. Rolfs. Mrs. Groth was a resident of the Remsen community 62 years.
She married August Hoeck at Lucerne, Iowa, in 1880. He died Feb. 25, 1898. Later, in 1913, she was married to John Groth. He preceded her in death in 1926.
One child survives, Edward Hoeck of Sibley. Also surviving are two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. – Le Mars Semi-Weekly Sentinel, Feb. 20, 1951, page 5.
