Old Resident Of Merrill Is Dead
Was In His Ninety-Fourth Year
Henry Kammeier, long time resident of Merrill vicinity, died at Sacred Heart hospital on Wednesday, July 3. He had been a patient at the hospital four days.
Deceased was born in Germany on February 13, 1853, and was 93 years, 4 months and 20 days of age at the time of his death. He came to the United States at the age of 35 and had been a resident of Plymouth county for 53 years. He engaged in farming and has been retired for a number of years making his home with his daughter, Mrs. Elmer Braune in Merrill.
Mr. Kammeier is survived by five daughters. Mrs. Elmer Braune, Mrs. Delbert Peterson and Mrs. Ed Mattas, all of Merrill; Mrs. Paul Gillmann of Rock Rapids and Mrs. Gus Knorr of Lime Creek, Minnesota; two sons, William Kammeier of Rock Rapids and Henry Kammeier of Los Angeles; 24 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife and four children.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 5, at 1:30 at the home of Mrs. Elmer Braune and at 2 o'clock at St. John's Lutheran church in Merrill with Rev. E. Jacobs officiating. Burial will be in Johnson township Lutheran cemetery.
