Mrs. Henry Kammeier Called by Death

Passed Away Saturday Morning At The Home of her Daughter, Mrs. Elmer Braune

Mrs. Henry Kammeier, well known resident of this vicinity, passed away at the home of her daughter. Mrs. Elmer Braune, at Merrill, Saturday morning.

Wilhelmine Kammeier nee Kroemer, wife of Henry Kammeier, died Saturday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Elmer Braune, residing near Merrill, after a lingering sickness. Mrs. Kammeier was 72 years of age on Jan. 17. Her maiden name was Wilhelmine Kroemer and she was born in Prussia, Germany. She was baptized and received her religious training in the Lutheran faith in her native land.

In 1888 she came to this country and was married at Wellsbrug, Iowa, on March 27, to Henry Kammeier. To this union 11 children were born. After their marriage they settled on a farm in Butler county, Iowa, and in 1893 came to Plymouth county, where they lived ever since.

Besides her husband she is survived by two sons and five daughters, Mrs. Minnie Knorr, of Fulda; Henry Kammeier, of Alhambra, Calif.; Mrs. Elmer Braune of Merrill; Mrs. Albert Petersen of Merrill; Mrs. Elsie Gillmann, of Rock Rapids; Mrs. Ed Mattas and William Kammeier of Merrill. Three daughters, Emma, Louise and Marie and one son, Fred, preceded her in death. One sister, three brothers, 27 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren survive.

Funeral services will be held in St. John's Lutheran church at Merrill Wednesday afternoon and the remains will be laid to rest in the Lutheran cemetery in Johnson township. Rev. A. Schempp will officiate.

To her home up above,

In that heavenly place
And her loved ones will join her
If they follow her ways.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 from the home and at two o'clock from St. John's church in Merrill.
