HENRY LINK PASSES AWAY AT WAUWATOSA, WISCONSIN. Aged Remsenite Dies from Cancer—Body Brought Here for Burial Funeral Tuesday.

Funeral services for Henry Link Sr., former Remsenite who died at Wauwatosa, Wis., last Saturday, were held Tuesday afternoon from Christ Lutheran church, the Rev. A. Noack officiating.
Henry Link passed away at the Lutheran Home for the Aged, near Wauwatosa, Saturday morning at 4 o’clock, after many months of suffering with cancer of the stomach. He was nearly 77 years old, and is survived by his widow and four sons. One of the sons, Henry Jr., has been farming in this vicinity for the last 20 years.
Mr. Link was born February 5, 1852 in Niederhall, Wittenburg, Germany, and came to the United States when he was 21 years old. He settled Kansas and later moved to Oklahoma, devoting his time to farming in both of these states. In 1880 he was united in marriage, at Ashland, Kansas. His wife passed away in 1907. In 1910 Mr. Link came to Remsen, and here was united in marriage to Mrs. Emily Mews. With the exception of a few months in Oklahoma, the couple continued to make their home here until September, 1926, when they entered the Lutheran Home for the Aged at Wauwatosa. About four years ago Mr. Link became afflicted with eye trouble, and was forced to an operation. Later he became almost blind.
Mr. Link was a good Christian man, dealing fairly and squarely at all times with his friends and neighbors, and being devoted to his family. He had many good friends in and around Remsen who regret his departure from this life, and who extend their sympathies to the bereaved relatives.
The body arrived here Monday morning and was taken to the Moeller undertaking parlors to await the hour of the funeral. Rev. Noack conducted brief services at the undertaking parlors at 1 o’clock Tuesday afternoon, and later in Christ Lutheran church. The burial was in the Remsen cemetery. – Remsen Bell Enterprise, January 19, 1928, page 1, column 2
