Mrs. Bertha Koerner, Mother of Well Known Family, Laid to Rest.
Mrs. Bertha S. Koerner, 80, was buried Monday in the Remsen cemetery, following funeral services at Luken’s funeral home in Le Mars. The Rev. M. L. Straube conducted the service.
Mrs. Koerner died Friday at Hawarden. She had been ill for about four months. She was born April 8, 1872, in Illinois. She and her husband, the late Chris Koerner, came to Le Mars 35 years ago, and this has been her home ever since.
She is survived by five sons: C.J. Koerner, Jerry and Herb, of Le Mars; Fred, Green, Ia., and Harold, Webster City, Iowa; and 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. – Le Mars Sentinel, Jan. 21, 1953, page 5.
