Life’s end. AMANDA HAACK, 93, OF REMSEN EXPIRES

Amanda Haack, 83, lifelong Remsen resident died Thursday at Floyd Valley hospital after a 3-week illness.
She was born Oct. 8, 1884, in Benton county, the daughter of the late John J. and Augusta Haack. She went to Remsen when an infant.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran church, Remsen. Rev. Paul Wuebben will officiate and burial will be in the Remsen city cemetery under direction of the Moeller funeral home.

Friends may call at the funeral home Friday evening.
Survivors are six sisters, Mrs. Emma Schumacher, Alma Haack, and Mrs. Peter Treinen (Effie), all of Remsen; Mrs. H.H. (Anna) Smith, Mrs. E. L. (Ida) Schietzelt and Mrs. Bertha Wilen, all of Sioux City, and a brother, Harry, Remsen, with whom she made her home.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ella and Clara, and a brother William. – Le Mars Daily Sentinel, March 8, 1968, page 7
