MUTH, REMBE, OETKEN, BELL

G. Leo Muth, 80, Akron, died Monday, Oct. 22, 1990 at the Akron Care Center of a long illness.

Services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Akron. Rev. Allen Bidne officiated. "In The Garden" and "How Great Thou Art" were sung by Joi Kircher, vocalist, accompanied by Pam Richards. Congregational hymns were "He Leadeth Me" and "Lord Take My Hand". Burial was in St. John's Lutheran church cemetery at Craig. Arrangements were under direction of Schroeder funeral home of Akron:

Pallbearers were Shane Muth, Mickey Muth, Dan 'Wolff, David Wolff, Roger Oetken, and Charles Oetken.

Mr. Muth was born Aug. 5, 1910 at rural Akron to John and Maude (Rembe) Muth. He attended elementary school at Chatsworth. He served in the army from 1934 to 1937. He married Rose Oetken Jan. 24, 1940 in Craig. She died Sept. 10, 1977. He farmed in the Merrill and Akron area for many years before moving to Le Mars. He worked at the Le Mars Hatchery and Feed until his retirement in 1979. He married Helene M. Bell Oct. 10. 1978, at Fort Worth, Texas. The couple lived for 10 years in Le Mars and Mesa, Ariz. He moved to the Akron Care Center in 1989.

Survivors include his wife, Helene of Akron; a son and daughter-in-law, Stanley and Gloria Muth of Merrill; a daughter and son-in-law, Darius and Dan Wolff of Sioux City; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a sister, Loretta Coons of Ireton; a stepson, Dennis Bell of Tea, S.D.; two step-daughters, Darlene Umbriet of Fort Worth, Tex., and Gwen Watkins of Hermister, Ore.; 12 step-grandchildren and 12 step-great- grandchildren .

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Laree Ann; two sisters, Myrtle Jurgenson and Edith Erdahl; and a brother, Curtis Muth.
