Ernst Henry Schuette, 76, of Le Mars, former longtime Craig resident, died Wednesday (April 23, 1986) at Brentwood Care Center after a long illness. He had lived at the center for l 1/2 years.

Funeral services were held Saturday at 10:30 a. m. at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran church, Craig. Rev. Charles Wolff officiated with burial in the church cemetery under direction of the Mauer-Johnson funeral home. Mr. Schuette was born April 28,1909, in Sioux county to William and Anna Eilers Schuette. He married Edna Eggebrecht Dec. 30, 1944, at Craig. He had operated a gas station at Craig for a number of years.

Mr. Schuette was a member of St. John's church.

Survivors are two sons, Lou Dell Schuette of Craig and Wayne Schuette of Spirit Lake; three step-daughters, Mrs. Larry (LaDonna) Oltmanns of Craig, Mrs. Wilbur (Jerlois) Renken of Le Mars and Mrs. Roger (Joyce) Lunstra of Sioux Falls; a brother, Elmer Schuette of Craig; three sisters, Elsie Pageler of Craig, Anna Marbach of Le Mars, and Edna House of Lake Isabella, Calif.; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife in 1970, and a step-daughter, LaVonne Miller.
