Anna H. Marbach, 72, of 1100 6th St. SE, Le Mars, Iowa, died Friday, June 4, 1993 at Marian Health Center, Sioux City. Funeral services were held at 2 p. m. Tuesday, June 8, at St. John's Lutheran church in Le Mars. Rev. Gary Landsness officiated. Burial was in Pleasant Hill cemetery in Ireton, under direction of the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. Active pallbearers were Wayne Schuette, Lou Dell Schuette, Dennis Schuette, Gayle Henrich, Kevin Bates and Mike Bates. Honorary bearers were Dale Schuette, Darold Pageler, Donald Pageler, Vernon Pageler, Stanley Pageler, Marlin Schuette, Jim Schuetter, and Orville Schuette.

Mrs. Marbach, the former Anna Schuette, was born December 20, 1920 in Ulm, Arkansas to William H. and Anna J. (Eilers) Schuette. She moved with her parents to the Craig area in her youth. She married Lowell Marbach of rural Akron, July 12, 1942 at St. John's Lutheran church in Craig, Iowa. The couple lived in Craig, and at Ruble where they operated the Ruble store for several years, and in Le Mars for many years. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran church, and the women of the ELCA. For many years he served as a 4-H leader and was active in the program as well as community activities.

She is survived by her husband, Lowell of Le Mars; one son, Larry W. Marbach of Le Mars; two daughters, Loanne and her husband Wayne Bates of Merrill; and Lynelle Marbach of Phoenix, Arizona. She has four grandchildren, Michael, Kevin and Todd Bates and Lyndsey Hightree; two sisters, Elsie Pageler of Craig, and Edna and her husband, Glen House of Lake Isabella, Calif.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, six half-brothers, and twin grandsons, Scott and Kevin Hightree in infancy.
