Wm. H. Schuette Died at Craig

Wm. H. Schuette of Craig passed away at his home last Thursday, April 11th, following an illness of four months, death being due to infirmities of old age. Funeral services were held Monday with Rev. W. M. Ziebell officiating. Interment was made at Ireton. Many from Ireton went to Craig to attend the services.

William Schuette was a native of Brunswick, Germany, where he was born March 9, 1952, so was just past 83 years of age at the time of his death. He came to America when a boy with his parents and they located near Staunton, Illinois. Mr. Schuette was the father of fourteen children. Six children were born to his first wife, Lizzie Stegeman. They are Henry of Staunton, Illinois, William of Kenosha, Wisconsin, Edward of Craig; Herman of Chicago; Otto of Bruce, S.D., and Fred of Ireton.

Later he was united in marriage with Miss Anna Eilers at Stuttgart, Ark., and to his union were born eight children who are Emil of Struble; Paul of Hendricks, Minn., Walter of Hawarden, Mrs. Elsie Pageler, Ernest, Elmer , Edna and Anna at home. Mr. Schuette was a speculative and roaming disposition. He lived in Texas, Illinois, Arkansas, South Dakota, and in 1909 he located in Craig. At one time he lived in the Ireton vicinity and was well known here.
