HELEN WOOLWORTH

Helen Woolworth, 79, of Sioux City, died Saturday, June 28, 2003, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel, with the Rev. Del Olivier of Augustana Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Woolworth was born Jan. 4, 1924, in Sioux City, the daughter of Rudolph and Margaret (Nelson) Nelson. She was a lifelong resident of Sioux City and attended Leeds High School.

She married Lester F. Woolworth on Dec. 31, 1941, in South Sioux City. She worked for more than 40 years at Interbake Foods, retiring as a supervisor in the late 1980s. Mr. Woolworth died April 18, 2000, in Sioux City.

She was a member of Augustana Lutheran Church and enjoyed camping with her grandsons.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Terry and Sidney Woolworth of Dakota City; two grandsons, Troy and Todd; three sisters, Virginia and her husband, Larry Smith, of Roanoke, Va., Elaine Guerra of Tampa, Fla., and Beth Ann and her husband, Doug Justice of Cape Coral, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Richard, Robert and Lawrence; and a sister, Violet.
