"Monday evening in Aurelia claimed Mrs. Pauline [Jahr] Krekow, well known Remsen woman and a resident here for nearly fifty years. Death overtook Mrs. Krekow while she was a visitor in the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Hasenwinkel, in Aurelia. She was 72 years old and is survived by one daughter and eight sons." - Le Mars Sentinel, Tuesday May 8, 1945
