Roy Maass. Funeral for Roy Henry Maass, 46, Lorimor, a Le Mars native, was at 10 a.m. Sept. 4 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Lorimor. Burial was in the Winterset Cemetery under direction of the Collins Funeral Home, Winterset. Pastor Charles Miller officiated and Joyce Larsen was organist. Mr. Maass died at his home Aug. 31, 1984. Dr. Thomas Bergstrom, Madison County Medical Examiner, said death was ruled a suicide, due to hanging. He was born April 22, 1938, in Le Mars to Frank and Marie Erickson [Erichsen]-Maass. He was a self-employed farmer, moving 16 years ago from Remsen to Lorimor. His marriage to Judith Lynne Hultgen took place May 23, 1965, at Oak Lawn, Ill. Survivors are his wife Judith; two sons, Scott Francis Maass and Lance Roy Maass and a daughter Alissa Lynn Maass, all of Lorimor; two brothers, Elmer Maass of Remsen and Wayne Maass of Paullina; three sisters, Ruth Anderson, Le Mars, Dorothy Robinson, Kingsley, and Helen Bottjen, Remsen.
