Lois Newsom, 56 of Van Buren, died Friday, April 01, 2011 in her home. She was a Counselor for Inspirations Counseling for the Elderly, a longtime resident of Crawford County. She obtained her Master’s Degree at NSU in Tahlequah, OK, having majored in Psychology; a member of the NSU’S Honor Society and a member of the Dean’s List. She was preceded in death by parents, Lenus & Ruth Forslund and one sister, Kathy Holmes.

She is survived by her husband, Delbert of 27 years; one daughter, Crystal Bradley of Ft. Smith; one son, Patrick Forslund of Gans, OK; one sister, Tammie Yenter of Gans, OK; two brothers, Tim Forslund of Gans, OK and Jim Forslund of Irving, TX; several nieces & nephews and four grandchildren.

FAMILY NOTES: Lois Marie Forslund was born September 28, 1954, LeMars, Iowa. Her parents were Lenus Forslund & Ruth Ewin Forslund. Lois spent her young childhood living at Seney and attended the Seney School. Lois Forslund married Delbert Newsom on August 31, 1984, in Mena, Arkansas. Lois Newsom died Friday, April 1, 2011. Her cremains will be interred Antioch Cemetery, located south of Mena, Arkansas, in a family plot with her parents and her sister, Kathy.
