Rites Held Tuesday
In Sioux City For
Former Akron Woman
Mrs. Elsie Tucker, daughter of Mr and Mrs. H. H. Port, early day Akron residents, who was born and grew to womanhood here, passed away in Sioux City, and the following obituary
appeared, in the Journal:Funeral services for Mrs. Elsie D, Tucker, 59, 707 1/2 Pierce street, manager of the Pierce Hotel, and a well known bowler, who died Saturday night after suffering a heart attack at the Sioux bowling alleys, will be held at 2 p. m. Tuesday at Perasso Bros. funeral home. Rev. Cecil J Tellekson will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery.
Mrs. Tucker was born August 25, 1888, at Akron, Iowa. She had resided in Sioux City thirty-eight years. She was a member of the Women of the Moose and the Women's Bowling association. She was a regular participant on teams in the Sioux and the War Eagle women's bowling leagues.
Survivors are two sons, L. R. [Laurence] and B. J. [Bernard] Tucker, both of Sioux City; two
brothers, Charles Port, of Hartford, S. D., and Hal Port, of Plankinton, S. D.; five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
