William H. Norris died at his home in LeMars on Monday afternoon at three o'clock. His death was caused from the effects of an attack of the grip from which he had been suffering. Mr. Norris was born in Harrison county, Ohio, some seventy-five years ago. From there he went to Illinois. He came to LeMars in 1880 and has lived here ever since.

He was an old soldier serving through the civil war in an Ohio regiment. He leaves a widow, one son, Albert Norris, and a daughter, Lizzie Norris. His brother, C. G. Norris, also resides in this city.

Mr. Norris was an upright and respected citizen. In religion he was affiliated with the Methodists and was consistent and devout member of that church.

Mr. Norris was a member of an old New England family remarkable for its longevity. Fourteen children were born in the family of which he was a member, nine boys and five girls. Four
of the girls died at different periods and one brother died fifty years ago, leaving eight boys and one girl. For many years the family circle remained unbroken until about a year ago when in
May last Jeremiah died at the good old age of 90. In June John died aged 80 and now William at the age of 78. When the first death occurred in the circle of eight brothers last year, the eldest
of the eight was 90 and the youngest 62 years of age.

The funeral was held at the Methodist church yesterday afternoon, Rev. J. J. Lace officiating and was attended by many friends of the deceased and the family.
