LE MARS PIONEER DIES AT SOO CITY

Funeral of Mrs. Minnie Schuldt Is Held At Craig On Saturday

Mrs. Minnie Sophia Schuldt, 66 years, old native of Germany and a resident of Sioux City for 14 years, died of a lingering illness in St. Joseph's hospital Thursday morning. She was the mother of two city employees.

She was taken from her home at 220 North Logan street to the hospital Monday, when her condition, which had been serious more than a year, suddenly took a turn for the worse.

Mrs. Schuldt came to the United States in 1884 and went to live at LeMars the same year. In 1887 she was married to Henry Schuldt and moved to a farm near Craig, where they resided until 1913 when they came to Sioux City.

Surviving are her husband, Henry Schuldt; six sons, Charles, a member of the Sioux City fire department; Henry, a member of the Sioux City police auto theft bureau; Ernest, Hugo, Richard and Victor, all of Sioux City; four daughters, Mrs. Anna Soost of Wells, Minn.; Mrs. Louis Thunhorst, of Hinton; Mrs. John Eilers of Craig, and Mrs. Harold Viall of Sioux City; two sisters, Mrs. Joe Schuldt of Wagner, S.D. and Mrs. John Winterfield of Sioux Center, and two brothers, Henry Baack of Hinton, and John Baack of Marion, S. D. Mrs. Schuldt was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church.

TThe body was taken to Craig where funeral services were held at 1:30 o'clock Saturday, afternoon Rev. G. A. Matthaides officiated and burial was at Craig.
