Sister Mary Agnes

Sister Mary St. Vivian Agnes, BVN, 87, a native of Akron, and resident of the Marion hall, Mount Carmel, Dubuque, died March 25, 1979, at St. Joseph's unit, Mercy Health center, Dubuque.

Services were held March 27 in the. Marion Hall Infirmary Chapel. Sister Mary St. Vivian, the former Lavina Agnes was born Nov. 23,1891, in Akron to Mary Ann and Matthew Agnes.

She entered the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Sept. 8, 1921. She taught grade and high school for 55 years in Iowa, Illinois, South Dakota and Wisconsin. She resided at Marion Hall since December 1978.

She is survived by three sisters. Sister Mary S. Matthew Agnes, Dubuque, Olive Agnes, Milwaukee, and Rose Hoffman, Washington, D.C., and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and four sisters.

Those attending the services were Ollie Agnes, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Neary of Milwaukee, Art Claeys, Mrs. Patricia Wolf, and Mrs. Larry Claeys all of Sioux City and Helen Neary of Sioux Falls, and Mrs. Sibyl Campbell of Akron.
