Inez Palmer, 84, of Akron, Iowa passed away Thursday, December 16, 2010 at Hillcrest Health Care Services in Hawarden, Iowa.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 20, 2010 at Carlsen Funeral Home – Schroeder Chapel in Akron, Iowa. Pastor Dawn Quame of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Akron will officiate. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Akron. Visitation with the family present will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Monday at the funeral home.

Inez Ellen Diediker was born September 10, 1926 in Brunsville, Iowa, the daughter of Sam and Dena (Johnson) Diediker. She was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith. She attended country school in Brunsville and later high school in Le Mars, Iowa. She graduated from Central High School.

Early on in her life, she was a homemaker for her children. Later on, she was united in marriage to Darrell “Dolly” Palmer in Luverne, Minnesota. She and Dolly worked for many years at the American Legion Club in Akron. Dolly passed away in 1978. In 2007, she moved to the Franken Apartment in Sioux Center, Iowa and in March of 2008, she became a resident at Hillcrest in Hawarden, Iowa.

Inez was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Akron for many years. Through the years, Inez enjoyed doing craft work. Many will remember her for her cooking and baking. Inez also enjoyed a good game of bingo. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include a son: Bruce Reemts (Mary) of Omaha, NE; 2 granddaughters: Rhonda Huisman (Shawn) of Fishers, IN, and Angie Aldrich of Sioux Center, IA; 5 great grandchildren; and a sister in law: Florence Diediker of Le Mars, IA.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two children: Neil Chamberlain and Deborah Palmer; two brothers: Henry and Donald Diediker; and a sister: Myrtle Jones.
