Elsie Ann James, 77, Sioux City, died Friday (Aug. 3, 1984) in a Sioux City nursing home after a brief illness. Services were at 10 a. m. Monday at Morningside Lutheran Church. Rev. M. L. Jacobson officiated. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Ireton. A prayer service was held at 7:30 p. m. Sunday in the Berkemier Funeral Home.
Mrs. James was born July 7,1907, in Plymouth County. She went to Sioux City in 1940. She worked for many years at Gordon Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Morningside Lutheran Church, Emerald Lodge No.23 and Northwestern Railroad Women's Auxiliary.
Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Stan (Beverly) Lilly of Sioux City, Mrs. Kenneth (Lois) Kady of Hazen, N.D., and Mrs. LaVonne Brown of St. Louis; one son, Orville Schuette of South Gate, Calif.; 18 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
