Popular Kingsley Young Woman Taken By Death
Funeral services were held at the home in Kingsley, Monday, for Mrs. Chester James, who died in a hospital at Sioux City, Friday, after an illness of several months. The services were conducted by Rev. J. B. Walker, and interment made in the Kingsley cemetery.
Ruth Helen Foster, third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Foster, was born on a farm north of Kingsley, on September 20, 1900. Her life, save for brief periods, has been spent in this community. She graduated from the Kingsley high school in 1919. That following year she took a commercial course in the Capital City Commercial college, at Des Moines. Later she spent one year at Brenau, a girls college at Gainsville, Georgia.
Following her schooling in Des Moines she was employed in an insurance office there. She taught four years in the rural schools, was employed for a year and a half in the local post office and held a position in the Farmers Bank for some time, previous to her marriage to Chester Y. James, on October 22, 1923. For the past five years Mr. and Mrs. James have farmed a few miles northeast of Kingsley.
She is survived by her husband, her parent’s home from childhood, who seemed like a sister to her, and many other relatives.
