LAKE STEVENS, Wash. — Darlene M. Doering, 70, of Lake Stevens, Wash., died Aug. 10,1993, after
a brief illness.

Mrs. Doering was born Aug. 14, 1922, in Plymouth County to Herman and Clara Lang. She was baptized in the Lutheran church and was confirmed as a youth by Rev. L.L. Belk. When she was six years old, the family moved into Le Mars where they had a farm within the city limits. She graduated from high school in Le Mars. She married Herbert Doering in 1941. The couple moved to Washington,; D.C., where he worked for the government printing office. The couple also lived in Chicago and Le Mars. Mrs. Doering worked in Le Mars for the utility company and the school district. The couple later moved to Sioux City. They moved to Snohomish County in 1974.

Survivors include her husband; a son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Patti Doering of Bellingham, Wash.; three grandchildren; a great-grandchild; four sisters, Evelyn Scott of California, Eugenia Heller of Iowa, Margorie Eilts of Texas and Betty Trudeau of Nebraska; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded, in death by her, parents; two brothers and two sisters. Graveside services were held at Bayview Cemetery, Bellingham, on Aug. 13. Memorial services were at Ebeneezer Lutheran Church, Lake Stevens, on Aug. 16 with Rev. Richard Edmonds officiating. Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
