Alvina Thunhorst, who has lived at Brentwood nearly seven years, was 90 May 22. Her daughter Lucille Johnson attended the birthday party with her.

Alvina was born near Ireton in 1889, one of four daughters and six sons of Henry and Minnie Baack Schuldt. She was educated in the rural school and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran church, Reading township, southeast of Ireton. Alvina's husband, Louis Thunhorst of Harvel, Illinois, was manager of grain elevators. The Thunhorst family lived in Craig, Hinton, Alcester and Beresford during the years he was employed by elevators in those towns. They made Le Mars their home when they retired. Mr. and Mrs. Thunhorst had been married 44 years at the time of his death in 1954.

Alvina has three children, Mrs. William Johnson of Brunsville; Robert of Primghar and Kenneth of St. Paul. She has nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter.

Mrs. Thunhorst is a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and ALCW.
