Robert C. Thunhorst, 65, Primghar, died Saturday, Nov. 3, 1990, at a Primghar hospital. Services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Grace Lutheran church in Primghar, with Rev. James Muller officiating. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. in Memorial cemetery in Le Mars, under direction of Gaudian-Eldridge funeral home in Primghar.

Mr. Thunhorst was born Dec. 17, 1924 in Hawarden to Louis and Alvina Schuldt Thunhorst. He lived with his family for several years at Craig, Iowa. He attended various schools and graduated from Conava, S.D. high school. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He married Barbara Raber, June 16,1947 in Le Mars. The couple lived in Worthington, Minn., and Spencer, where he was associated with the meat industry, before moving to Primghar in 1965. He was employed by the O'Brien county sheriffs office, retiring a few years ago. He was a member of Grace Lutheran church and the VFW of Primghar.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Richard of North Liberty; Robert of Iowa City and Trace of Ames; a daughter, Becky VanderTuig of Spencer; six grandchildren; and a brother, Kenneth of St. Paul, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mrs. Lucille Johnson
