Miss Charlotte Hoyt passed away at her home in this city at 6:30 p. m., Sunday, December 12, 1915, at the age of 60 years and 2 days. For several years she had been a sufferer from Rheumatism, but was not confined to her bed until a few days before her death, when she contracted a severe cold that developed into lung fever.
Miss Hoyt was born at New Caanan, Westchester county, Connecticut, December 10, 1855. At the age of eleven years she came with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Hoyt, to Union County, South Dakota, they being among the pioneer settlers of that locality. She resided there until about six years ago, when she came to Akron to reside and has since made her home here.
Miss Hoyt was a kind and helpful friend and neighbor, and was highly esteemed by all who knew her. She became a member of the Christian church many years ago.
She leaves to mourn her departure two sisters and one brother; Mrs. Thurston C. Squires, Mrs. Frank Wakeman and John C. Hoyt; all of Akron vicinity.
Funeral services were conducted by Pastor Geo. Bramel in the Christian Tabernacle Tuesday afternoon. Interment was made in Riverside cemetery.
