Glenn A. Molzen, 69, rural Akron, Iowa, died Monday, November 16, 1998 at his rural home. Services were held Thursday November 19, 1998 at the United Methodist Church, Hawarden, la. With Rev. Dean Shelly officiating. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery, Hawarden. Porter-Dow Funeral Home, Hawarden, la. was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Molzen was born October 24, 1929, on the Molzen family farm east of Akron, la., the son of Henry and Anna (Popken) Molzen. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. Glenn served with the US Navy during the Korean War from January 9, 1952 to December 2, 1953. He married Marjorie Thompson They lived on the Molzen family farm, where he farmed and ran a trucking business. Mr. Molzen was an avid outdoors man, enjoying hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Hawarden
United Methodist Church, the Akron American Legion and the Farm Bureau.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Mark and his wife, Danelle, rural Akron; one daughter, Faye Hirt and her husband Tracy of Platte, SD; six grandchildren, Haley; Ashley and Ryan Molzen, Chase, Shane and Alexandra Hirt; one brother, Lloyd Molzen of Le Mars Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents and infant twin sisters.
