SAD ACCIDENT—David Fletcher met with a serious accident last Tuesday. He was working for his uncle, Mr. Alfred Fletcher of Pleasant Valley, and went to Le Mars to bring home a newly purchased cow. The cow had been dehorned and the rope was put around her neck and a slip noose knot made in the other end of the rope and slipped over his left hand and fastened on his wrist The cow ran with him, dragging him on the ground for about fifty yards, breaking his arm in two places, and running close to a wire fence, he was badly cut and his head struck a post inflicting a severe wound. He was found shortly after by Mr. Lias and Drs. Clark and Ellis summoned.

He was unconscious when found and never recovered his senses and we learn that he died on Friday last. He was 22 years old and came from England a short time ago.
