John A. Hall, 78, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Christmas Eve at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Clifford Shearer in Kingsley.
He was born January 3rd, 1884 in Winteringham, England. He came to America in 1904.
On April 25, 1911 he was united in marriage to Anna Bride of Kingsley. The young couple started farming that same year in Pipestone County, Minnesota. In 1927 the Halls returned to Kingsley, where Mr. Hall became interested in the carpenter trade. In 1943 they moved to Brookings, Oregon, where he worked as a carpenter until the death of his wife in December 1957.
The past five years he has made his home at one or the other of his two daughter Dorothy Mrs. Clifford Shearer, Kingsley and Catharine Mrs. Lou Morgen of Sterling, Alaska.
Survivors include the two daughters and three sons, Floyd of Le Mars, Fritz of Sterling, Alaska and Dr. M. J. Hall of Carroll, Iowa; two stepsons, Roy March of Kingsley and Lee March of Crescent City, California.
Fourteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren one brother, Vincent of Beauregard, Georgia, and one sister Grace of Hulr England.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 28th at St Michael's Catholic church Kingsley, at 10:30 a.m., Rev Raymond Weiling will officiate. Burial will be in the Kingsley Cemetery under the direction of the Dickson funeral home of Kingsley.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents, three brothers, and six sisters.
