Lockhart – On Tuesday March 6, 1883, of Consumption, Walter E. Lockhart aged 37 years.

The deceased was born in India. He is a son Gen. Lockhart, and his mother is still living, in Edinburgh Scotland.

He had long been suffering from consumption and came here with the hope that a change of climate might act beneficially on his system. The disease was too firmly seated for that, and he gradually weakened till he took to his bed a few weeks ago. He received the kindest nursing and best medical treatment but it was of no avail, and on Tuesday he passed away without a struggle.
