Rose Huebner, 86, of Beresford, SD, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, December 9, 2006 at her residence in Beresford, SD.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, E.L.C.A. in Beresford, SD with Reverend Robert Hansen officiating. Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at the Riverside Cemetery in Akron, Iowa. Visitations will be after 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 12, 2006, with the family present after 6:00 p.m., and a Prayer service at 7:00 p.m., all at the church in Beresford, SD. Visitation will resume 1 hour prior to the services on Wednesday at the church. The Carlsen Funeral Home – Schroeder Chapel in Akron, Iowa is in charge of arrangements.
Casket Bearers: Roger Jensen, Reid Jensen, Bryce Jensen, Jim Fedderson, Warren Wilson, and Bob James.

Rose Mathilda Ella Huebner was born March 9, 1920 in Lynch, North Dakota, the daughter of David and Anna (Stallbaum) Vanderham. Early in her childhood, she moved with her family to Chatsworth, Iowa. She attended country school in Chatsworth. She was united in marriage to Ralph Huebner on April 25, 1939 in Akron, Iowa. They farmed in Iowa and later in South Dakota for over 51 years. They raised chickens and sold their eggs for many years. Ralph passed away November 29, 2006. Rose was currently living in the Evergreen Apartments in Beresford, SD.

She was a longtime member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, E.L.C.A. in Beresford where she was a member of the W.E.L.C.A. She enjoyed flowers and plants. She also enjoyed word search puzzles and crocheting afghans for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her two 2 daughters: Marjean Van Scharrel and her husband Boyd of Howard, SD, and Marcella Buum and her husband Alvern of Beresford, SD; 5 grandchildren: Gayle Bechen and her husband John of Letcher, SD, Joel Van Scharrel and his wife Tammy of Sioux Falls, SD, Michele Radack and her husband Mark of Tyndall, SD, Jerry Buum and his wife Laurie of Elk Point, SD, and Jeff Buum and his wife Carrie of Sioux Falls, SD; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister: Anna Huebner and her husband August of Akron, IA; a brother: William Vanderham and his wife Mariem of Sioux City, IA; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 2 brothers: Fred and Herman; and 4 sisters: Marie Place, Lena Weyen, Katie Kaelke, and Minnie Haage.
