Barbara Boetger Barfield, 60, El Paso, Texas, died Saturday, December 5,1998, in El Paso Texas.

Funeral services were held on December 11 at Kaston Maxon Chapel, El Paso, Texas, with Pastor Dale Andrews officiating. Interment was at Fort Bliss Cemetery, El Paso, Texas.

Pallbearers were Joe McGlung, James Lemons, Hitch Montgomery, Gordon Schalla Ewell Schirmer and Robert Elliott.

Pianist and soloist was Carlos Qrona.

Mrs. Barfield was born July 8th, 1938, in Akron, Iowa the daughter of Orville and Maxine (Harvey) Boetger. She graduated from Akron High School in Akron. In 1958 she moved to El Paso, Texas. She married Gene Barfield in 1964. She worked at Sprouse Reitz Variety Store and Ben Franklin Crafts until she retired to become a homemaker which she loved very much.

Survivors include her husband, one daughter, Cheri Bates and her husband, Joe; her mother, Maxine Boetger; two grandchildren; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father; and two grandchildren, Caleb and Josie Bates.
