Edward Boetger Passes Away

Akron Register Tribune; Edward C. Boetger departed this life last Thursday morning, August 17, 1950, at the Veteran’s Hospital in Sioux Falls , S. D. At the time of his death, he was 59 years , 9 month s and 9 days of age.

Mr. Boetger was born in Union County , S. D., October 19, 1890. His parents were Mr. and Mrs. Henry Boetger . He spent much of his life in the vicinity of Akron, particularly in Union County, where he engaged in farming. During the First World War he served his country in the armed forces. He was in the Army and served several months overseas in France . He was a member of the American Legion.

Those who remain to mourn his departure include; Three sisters, Mrs. Andrew Sorenson, Mrs. Marie Smith and Mrs. John Osterbuhr, all of Elk Point , S. D.; three brothers, Fred, of Sioux City; Ernest and Leander, of Akron, other relatives and many friends. Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother in infancy and a sister, Irene, at the age of six years.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Immanuel Lutheran Church , conducted b y Pastor David J. Roy. " Abide With Me" and “Beyond the Sunset” were sung By Mrs. Alvin Frisk.

Six nephews of the deceased acted as pallbearers.

Interment was in Riverside Cemetery.
