Ernest Boetger,, 81, Akron, died Tuesday morning, Aug. 30, 1977, at the Akron hospital after a brief illness.

A prayer service will be held Thursday evening, Sept. 1, at 7:30 at the Schroeder Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held Friday, Sept. 2 at 10:30 a.m.at the First Church of Christ with Rev. Mike McHugh officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Akron, under the direction of the Schroeder Funeral Home.

Mr. Boetger was born May 31; 1896 in Union County, S.D. He married Mary E. Beelner June 14, 1916 at Elk Point, S.D. They farmed in the Akron community, and moved to Akron in 1929. For several years he was employed by the Milwaukee railroad.

Survivors are his wife; five sons, Orville of El Paso, Texas. Parnell "Charlie" and Darrell, both of Akron, Clifford and Raymond of Le Mars; one daughter, Mrs. Daryl (Elaine) McCormick of Downey, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Marie West of South Sioux City and Mrs. Alvina Osterbuhr of Elk Point; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
