HENRY BOETGER SUDDENLY CALLED CHRISTMAS NIGHT
Had Been Resident Of Akron And Vicinity Since Young Manhood

In the columns of this paper last week appeared a brief mention of the death of Henry Boetger, a well-known resident, at his home in Akron on the evening of Christmas Day, December 25, 1943, from a sudden heart attack, at the age of 75 years, 2 months and 14 days.

Henry Fredrick Boetger was born October 11, 1868,. in Germany, and came to the United States at the age of fourteen years, and located in Iowa. He farmed in Union county, S. D., for a number of years. On April 19, 1890, he was united in marriage with Emma Anderson, and to them were born five sons and four daughters. Mr. and Mrs. Boetger retired from farming twelve years ago and moved to Akron, which has since remained the family home.

Left to mourn his departure are his wife, Emma; four sons and three daughters—Edward, at home; Fred, of Sioux City; Ernest and Leander, of Akron; Mrs. Freda Sorensen and Mrs. Alvina Osterbuhr, of Elk Point, S. D., and Mrs. Mary Smith, of Pierson, Iowa; also by 23 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mr. Boetger was preceded in death by a son in infancy and a daughter, Emma Irene, at the age of six years. A man of genial and sociable nature, Mr. Boetger was a familiar figure here for many years, and he will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon of last week in the Immanuel Lutheran -church, conducted by the pastor, Rev, E. G. Svenson. Interment was in Riverside cemetery.
