Mary Welch, 69, of Elk Point, South Dakota, died Monday, November 23, 1998 at her residence.

Memorial services were held November: at Anderson Funeral Home in Elk Point. Private burial was held November 28 in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Mrs. Welch was born May 4, 1929, in Akron, Iowa; the daughter of George and Edna (Jans) Meins. She married Matthew Welch in 1947, in Winnebago, NE.

Survivors include three sons and their wives, Edward and Donna and Mark and Penny, all of Elk Point and Paul and Kay of Veneta, OR; a daughter, Barbara Welch of Phoenix, AZ.; three sisters and their, husbands, Agnus and Richard Trudeau of Vermillion, SD, Phyllis and Lowell Kamradt of Sioux City and Lyna and Don Wilberg of Alcester, SD; a brother and his wife, Ernest and Doris Petty of Elk Point; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband.
