Mrs. Harriet Dreeszen, of Westfield, Iowa, a resident of western Plymouth County for fifty-five years, passed away at Akron Community Hospital on Tuesday, June 7, 1955, after an extended illness, at the age of nearly 78 years.
She was born July 2, 1877,. at Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, and as a child moved to Correctionville, Iowa, then coming to Plymouth County in 1900.
In young womanhood she was united in marriage, with Henry Dreeszen. and six sons and two daughters were born to them. Her husband and one daughter preceded her in death.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Russell Embick, of Sioux City, Iowa, and six sons, John, of Sioux. City; Roy and Tom, of Akron; Bryan; Arch, and Merlin, of Westfield, Iowa; also by 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; a brother, Will, of Pierson, Iowa, and three half sisters, Mrs. Goldie Holcomb, of Correctionville; Mrs. Ernie Blaisdell, of Moville, and Mrs. James flash, of California. She was a kind and devoted mother and a valued friend, and neighbor.
Funeral services were held last Friday at 2;00 p. in. in the Westfield Congregational Church, Rev. 0. F. Elbe officiating. Pallbearers were her six grandsons, Dwight and Wallace Brown, Marvin and Bobby Dreeszen, Lowell Morehead and. Donald Brundeen,
Burial was in Logan Park Cemetery, Sioux City.
