Kimberly Annette Gries, 19, lifelong Merrill resident, died Saturday, Oct. 13, 1990 at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center, Sioux City, after a long illness.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic church in Merrill. Rev. Mark Harrington officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery in Merrill, under direction of Luedtke- Feuerstein Funeral Home in Le Mars.

Kimberly was born April 2, 1971, in Sioux City to Terry and Virginia Hawks Gries. She was raised in Merrill where she attended elementary school. She graduated from Le Mars Community high school in l989. She was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, Merrill.

Survivors are her parents, Terry and Ginger Gries of Merrill; a sister, Kcnee, at home; a brother Chris, at lumie; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Marcella Hawks of Akron; and paternal grandfather, Harry Gries of Kingsley and several aunts and uncles. She was the niece of Glenda Baston of Akron.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Alfred Hawks, and her paternal grandmother, Lorna Gries.
