Sudden summons came to Edward Lamoureux, a well known and highly respected citizen of Akron, Saturday, August 19, 1933, at 11 a.m., due to a heart attack. He had apparently been in his usual health right up to the time of his death, which occurred in his home, and his passing without previous warning came as a stunning, blow to his family, who have the sincere sympathy of the entire community in their bereavement. His age was 64 years, 4 months and 15 days.

Edward Lamoureux was born April 4, 1860, in Montreal, Canada. At the age of nine months he moved with his parents to Salix, Iowa, where he grew to young manhood. He was united in marriage with Amelia G. Rush on April 24, 1895, and engaged in farming near Salix until August 22, 1900 when he moved his family to Akron Ia., and farmed land adjoining town on the southwest. The union of Mr. and Mrs. Lamourenx was blessed with thirteen children—nine sons and four daughters, all of whom survive him except one daughter, Victoria Eva, who died at the age of two years on January 5, 1901.

With his widow, there are left to mourn his departure, Nap., of Sioux City, Ia.; Vetal. of Shoshoni, Wyo.; Milford, of Sloan, Ia.; Leonard, Clifford, Lovay, Loyd, William and Walter, of Akron; Mrs. Steve Gant, of Westfield, Ia.; Edna and Madalin, of Akron, also twenty grandchildren, and two brothers. Arthur, of Akron, and Theodore, of Salix, Ia. A man of upright character and industrious habits, a devoted husband and father, a helpful and valued neighbor and friend, he will be missed and mourned in this community, where he has lived during the past thirty three years.

Funeral services were held Tuesday morning in St. Patrick's Catholic Church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Fr. J. A. Roder, and Rev. Fr. Conway, of Hawarden.

The pallbearers were Chas. McConville, Rick Boden, John Boden, Win. Simeon, P. A. Foley and Win. Hoschler. Interment was in the Catholic cemetery here. There was a large attendance at the services. Near relatives who came from out of town were: Vetal Larnoureux and family, of Shoshoni, Wyo.; Theodore Lamoureux, of Salix, Ia. A number of other relatives and friends came from Salix, Sioux City, Alto, Merrill, Whiting and Sloan, Ia., and Jefferson, S.D.
