STUDENT DIES OF PNEUMONIA
Francis Adams, Central High School Pupil, Succumbs—Rites ThursdayFuneral services for Francis Adams, 17 years old, Central high school student, who died of pneumonia Tuesday after a 12-day illness, will be held at 3 o’clock Thursday in the Nelson-Berger funeral parlors. Rev. B. M. Watson, pastor of Riverside Methodist Episcopal church, will officiate. Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery.
Young Adams’ death occurred in the home of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James Sattiszahn, 2000 Riverside avenue. He first became ill with influenza, which developed into pneumonia.
About 160 students were absent from school Thursday, according to school reports. Most of them are ill with influenza, it is believed.
The youth was born in Sioux City January 6, 1911, and had lived here all his life. Since he was 6 years old, he had resided with his grandparents. He was a member of the senior class and Chrestomathian society.
Besides his grandparents, his mother, Mrs. Blanche Flick, two sisters, Delia and Marian Adams, and two brothers, Leonard and Albert Adams, all of Sioux City, survive.
