Elsie died on Wednesday morning, January 20, 2010.
Elsie Louise Krause was born November 10, 1913 to Carl and Ida (Ziervogel) Krause in Marshfield, Wisconsin. She attended rural country school in Iowa. On February 26, 1933, Elsie was united in marriage to John Kluver in Hinton, Iowa. After their marriage they farmed in the Hinton and LeMars, Iowa area. In the fall of 1953 they moved to a farm in Rolling Green Township, Martin County, Minnesota. They retired in 1975 and moved to Welcome.
After John's death she moved to the Lutz Wing of Fairmont Medical Hospital in 1997 and resided there until her death. Elsie was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she participated in the Ladies Aid. She was a past member of the Welcome Senior Citizens. Her interests included gardening, cooking, baking, playing cards, playing bingo and loved entertaining in her home. She was known for her "specialty" Lemon Meringue Pie.
Survivors include daughters, Marlys and her husband, Richard Traetow of rural Truman, Minnesota and Betty and her husband, Gerald Magee of Charles City, Iowa; son, Jim and his wife, Carolyn Kluver of rural Fairmont, Minnesota; 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
Elsie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John on December 24, 1989; daughter, Marilyn Brockman; son-in-law, Ron Saxen; one brother and two sisters and other relatives.
