John (Jack) Kluver, 81, Welcome, Minn., an Akron native, died unexpectedly at his home Christmas Eve (Dec. 24, 1989),
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Dec. 27, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome with Rev. Donald Hippe officiating. Burial was in Welcome City Cemetery, Welcome.
He was born Nov. 29, 1908, at Akron to John and Clara (Mangelsen) Kluver. He attended Akron schools and then farmed. He married Elsie Krause Feb. 26, 1933 at Hinton. After their marriage they farmed in the Hinton and Le Mars area. In the fall of 1953, they moved to a farm in Rolling Green township, Martin county, Minn. In 1975, they retired, moving into Welcome. John was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he held various offices. He was active in the Welcome Senior Citizens and also participated in the Welcome Centennial committee.
Survivors are his wife, Elsie, of Welcome; a daughter, Marilyn Brockman of Fairmont; a daughter and son-in-law, Marlys and Ron Saxen of rural Welcome and Betty and Jed Magee of Jefferson, Iowa; a son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Carol Kluver of rural Fairmont; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Frieda Onken of Le Mars; a sister-in law, Helen Erks of Le Mars; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and six brothers.
