Henry H. Ludwigs, 93, Le Mars, died Monday, Jan. 29,1990. in Floyd Valley hospital of a brief illness.

Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Christ Lutheran church, Grant township, rural Le Mars. Rev. Jack Hebard officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery under direction of the Mauer Johnson funeral home in Le Mars.

Mr. Ludwigs was born Nov. 19, 1896 in Grant Township, Plymouth County, son of John C. and Marie (Haage) Ludwigs. He married Clara A. Mammen Nov. 18, 1926, in Plymouth County. He farmed until 1953 and lived in Le Mars the last 29 years.

Mr. Ludwigs was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and Lutheran Brotherhood. He was a former member of the church council and former district school director in Grant Township.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter-in-law, Jeanean Lesher of Mesa, Ariz.; two brothers, William and Otto, both of Le Mars; grandchildren, Dwight and Sharon Ludwigs of Jefferson, S.D. Darnell and Cindy Ludwigs of Omaha, Jerrie and Julie Ludwigs of Le Mars, and Tammy Ludwigs of Longmont, Colo,, and a great-granddaughter, Christina Ludwigs of Jefferson, S.D.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Duane; a sister, Sena Renken; a brother, Fred, and a grandson, Timothy J. Ludwigs
