Annola M. Schweitzberger, 87, of Kingsley, died early Thursday morning, Sept. 2, 2010, at the Sunrise Retirement Community in Sioux City.

Annola Mae Schweitzberger, the only child of Raymond and Bertha (Page) Fletcher, was born July 19, 1923, in Kingsley. She graduated from Pierson High School.

On July 28, 1955, in Kingsley, Annola was united in marriage to Francis Woodrow Schweitzberger. She always expressed that, "Francis was the love of her life and her best friend!" Annola and Francis resided south of Kingsley.

Annola was employed as an operator and receptionist at Central Telephone, where she worked in the communities of Pierson, Kingsley and Le Mars at various times during her tenure of 42 years with the company. In 1962, she retired.

Annola and Francis had a passion for traveling extensively. Together, they visited all of the states in the United States and 88 countries around the world. She claimed that Switzerland was her favorite foreign destination.

Some of Annola's other interests included visiting with her relatives and friends, playing bingo, shopping, and dining out.

Annola is survived by her sisters-in-law, Minnetta, Thelma and Betsy Schweitzberger, all of Kingsley, and Violet Keller of California City, Calif.; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives, caregivers, and friends.

Preceding her in death is her husband, Francis Schweitzberger Sept. 1, 2001, and her parents, Raymond and Bertha Fletcher.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, at the Johnson-Earnest Funeral Home in Kingsley. The Rev. Duane Miesner will officiate Annola's service. Interment will be in the Kingsley Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Saturday morning, at the Johnson-Earnest Funeral Home in Kingsley.
