Cora Adamson, 84, of Alcester, S.D., died Monday (May 11, 1992), at Morningside Manor in Alcester.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, at Union Creek Lutheran Church, rural Akron. The Rev. Wm. Flemr officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery under direction of the Wass Funeral Home in Alcester. Soloist Paulette Groon sang "The King of Love My Shepherd Is"; Organist was Ruth Stoutenburg. "How Great Thou Art", was sung by the congregation.
Pallbearers were Ray Ericson, Eric Hedeby, Fay Hendricks, Earl Horton, Dennis Hultgren and Merrill Johnson.
Mrs. Adamson was born May 30, 1907, in Sac County, Iowa, to parents John and Anna (Berg) Johnson. She attended rural school in the Sac City area. She married George Adamson Feb. 19, 1930, in Alcester. The couple farmed in the Alcester/Akron area until 1976, when they retired and'moved into Alcester. Mr. Adamson died in June 1979. Cora became a resident at Morningside Manor in October 1990.
She was a member of Union Creek Lutheran church, where she was active in the Ladies Aid. She was also active with the Alcester and Hawarden Senior Citizens.
Survivors include her son, Ronald and his wife, Mary Lou of Sioux Falls, S.D.; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers and three sisters.
