Mrs. Lewis Peterson, 59, El Paso, Texas, an Akron native and formerly of Alcester, died Tuesday, (Feb. 19, 1980) at El Paso of long illness.

Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Nathanael Lutheran church in Alcester. Rev. David J. Roy officiated, with burial in North Nathanael Lutheran Cemetery under direction of the Wass funeral home at Alcester.

Pallbearers were Howard Schoellerman, Bob Anderson, Marlin Day, Dennis Treiber, Terry Johnson, and Darrell Clay.

Mrs. Peterson, the former June R. Finzen was born June 22, 1920, at Akron. She received her early education in the Akron area schools and attended Westmar college in Le Mars. She taught school in the Akron.area prior to her marriage on June 22, 1944 to Lewis Peterson at Akron. The couple farmed at Alcester until their retirement in December 1976, when they moved to El Paso.

Mrs. Peterson was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and at the time of her death was a member of St. Timothy Lutheran church in El Paso. After her retirement, she served as cub scout master in El Paso.

Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Terry (Pauline) Harkness, of El Paso; her mother, Mrs. Rozelle Finzen of Akron; three brothers, Ivan and Arvin, both of Akron and Arlo of Rosemount, Pa.; two sisters, Mrs. Ray (Ardis) Burdette of Tacoma, Wash, and Mrs. Clayton (Eunice) Howard of Phoenix, Ariz.; and four grandchildren.
