Ada "Pinkie" Merle Brown, 67, Arroyo Grande, Calif., died April 30, 1992 at her home.

A private memorial service is planned for a later date. Cremation has taken place at the Lady Family Mortuary and Crematory in Arroyo
Grande.

Mrs. Brown, the former Ada Myers was born June 4, 1924 in Akron, Iowa. She had been a resident of Arroyo Grande for 18 years, coming from Studio City, Calif. She and her husband purchased a 100- year-old home in the Village of Arroyo Grande and spent several years working together on its restoration, following her husband's retirement. She had worked as a cutter in the film industry and was also an artist. She enjoyed ceramics and watercolor and collecting antiques. She filled her home with antiques to fit with the period of the home. She wrote children's short stories and enjoyed gardening. Historical Society and a member of the Woods Humane Society.

Survivors are her husband of 47 years, Claire P. Brown of Arroyo Grande; a daughter Raegene Africa and her husband, Ken of Sonoma; two sisters, Phyllis Swensen of Desert Hot Springs, Calif., and Jennie Lewis of Van Nuys, Calif.; a sister-in-law, Betty Myers of Upland, Calif.; and two granddaughters, Kathleen and Kristine Africa of Sonoma.
