Arnold J. Damrau, 66, rural Westfield, died Friday, April 3, 1992, at his home after a short illness.

Services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Whitfield United church in Sioux City, with Rev. Larry Wimmer officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park cemetery under direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City.

Mr. Damrau was born July 31, 1925, in Galva and attended schools in Galva and Cherokee. He worked at Frank Pilley & Co. in Merrill before moving to Sioux City in 1945. He worked for Armour & Co., Sioux City Quality Pork and retired from John Morrell in 1988, after 35 years. He married Fern R. Minor April 21, 1951 in South Sioux City. Mr. Damrau was a member of Whitfield United Methodist church in Sioux City and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 77 of Sioux City.

Survivors include his wife, Fern of Westfield; two sons, Gary and his wife, Linda Damrau of Sioux City, and John and his wife, Berniece Damrau of rural Sioux City; a daughter, Julie and her husband, Staff Sgt. Steven Davis of Ellsworth AFB, S.D.; a brother, Leonard Damrau of Sioux City; and five grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gustave and Magdaline (Peters) Damrau; three brothers and four sisters.

Pallbearers were Arlo Suhr, Noah Porters, Rick Minor, Jess Minor, Frank Minor, and Larry Heschke.
