HARMS, HUCKLE, REWERTS

Alfred G. Harms, 80, of Le Mars, died Sunday (April 5, 1992), at Floyd Valley hospital in Le Mars.

Services were Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Le Mars. Rev. Dale George officiated. Burial was in Calvary cemetery under direction of Mauer-Johnson funeral home, Le Mars.

Mr. Harms was born Oct. 18, 1911, in rural Le Mars, son of John J. and Katharina (Rewerts) Harms. He was a lifelong Plymouth county resident. He married Rita Huckle Dec. 3, 1947, in Le Mars. He was a carpenter. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the European Theater (1942-1945). He was a member of Wasmer Post 241, American Legion of Le Mars.

Survivors include his wife; three sons and their wives, Dennis and Cathy Harms of Alton, Allen and Beth Harms of Sioux City, and Keith and Stacy Harms of Merrill; three daughters and their husbands, Jo Ann Schwebach and Walt of Alton, Betty Hollander and Dale of Spencer, and Nancy Harms-Werner of Le Mars and Clarence Harms and his wife, Beulah of Hawarden; and three sisters, Theresa Engel of Sioux City, Hilda Harms and Kate Carstensen, both of Le Mars.

He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Carl and Donald, and Jurgen in infancy; and a sister, Meta Eilers
